FCC Forms & Registration

What is an FRN number?

An FRN number is a ten-digit number generated by the FCC for anyone that does business with the FCC. This is also known as an FCC Registration Number. All Ham Radio operators must be registered and obtain an FRN number. The FCC uses the FRN number to track payments, feeds, and licenses. You do not have to have a Ham Radio license in order to obtain an FRN number.

Do I need an FRN Number and how do I get one?

An FRN number is required for anyone that will be taking a test to become a Ham Radio operator. You must have your FRN number with you at the exam. See the below video on how to register for an FRN number (FCC Registration Number).
